Children Performances in Fun English Club 2015

A group of primary school students joining Fun English Club at YSU Faculty of Languages and Arts performed a drama entitled ‘The Little Red Riding Hood’ as their closing performance after joining the course for 8 weeks. During the performace, the students showed therir ability in acting as a host, singing, and playing the drama.
During the course, the students spent 4.5 hours a week to join classes three times a week. Classes were both outdoor and indoor. The outdoor classes were composed of a grand tour, a picnic, a barbeque, a field trip, and closing performances. The teaching and learning process was designed to provide learning opportunities to develop students socio-emotional, cognitive, and psychomotoric skills.
The 16 teachers are YSU students taking English for Children course under the supervision of Nury Supriyanti, M.A. In the opening of the performance, Dr. Widyastuti Purbani, M.A. , the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs said that Fun English Club is an annual program for the department to conduct. “We hope that in the near future, YSU Faculty of Languages and Arts will have its own lab schools for English for Children,” she closed.
