Coordination Meeting for Credit Transfer Program between Yogyakarta State University and State University of Medan

Delegates of State University of Medan (Unimed) met YSU Vice Rector for Cooperation Affairs and Partnerships, Prof. Suwarsih Madya, Ph.D. and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Cholisin, M.Si. to discuss the technical details of a credit transfer program.
The delegates of Unimed were Dr. Restu M.S. Dean of Unimed Faculty of Social Sciences, Dra. Nurmala Berutu, M.Pd., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Lisyanto, M.Si. Expert Staff to Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. The meeting was conducted at East Meeting Room 2, 2nd Floor of YSU Rectorate Building.
The credit transfer program involves three departments namely Geography Education, Civic Education, and History Education. It will be joined by 10 students of Faculty of Social Sciences at Unimed.
“This meeting is to discuss further details for a credit transfer program planned by both faculty leaders. The credit transfer program has attracted many students to apply and join the selection process. This is not only academic activties but also a cultural exchange program in which students from North Sumatra will be able to broaden their knowledge of the archipelago and Indonesia. They will experience and learn many things about local culture in Yogyakarta, especially Javanese,” Dr. Restu M.M. said.
Prof. Suwarsih Madya, Ph.D. further said that credit transfer program has brought new perspective of the nature of the program. “In Indonesia today, a credit transfer program is not only conducted by collaboration with overseas universities, but also domestic universities,” she said.
The program will be conducted in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic year, starting from August 24th to January 2016. The MoU for the collaboration between the two universities will also be signed in the next August.
