YSU students took part in organizing English for Holiday 2014 conducted by the Department of English Education. The program started from Monday, June 30^th to Friday, July 11^th 2014.

Lecturers and students of English Education Department of YSU together organised this program and designed the curriculum. The students involved in teaching the EFH 2014 participants were chosen based on their teaching experience so that the committee were able to provide the best learning experience for the EFH 2014 participants. During the classes, the participants were encourage to communicatively and actively speak English.

The participants of EFH 2014 ranged from 4 year-olds to senior high school students. Many participants had participated in the last year’s program.

This year’s theme was Getting Closer to Local Culture. The learning activities included classroom sessions, outdoors games, and workshops for batik and Kecak traditional dance.

The closing ceremony of EFH 2014 was attended by parents and full of students’ performances such as singing, dancing, playing games, and being reporters showing their skills in speaking English. (oiap)
