 JANU MUHAMMAD REPRESENTS YSU IN YLI 2015

Janu Muhammad was succesfully chosen as one of 60 Indonesian students of the 2015 National Young Leaders for Indonesia (YLI). It is an annual program focusing on preparing Indonesian young future leaders to be the next future leaders in their fields. Starting from 2008, YLI has chosen 60 students, even those who is currently studying in Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia to join leader program for six months.
YLI has three forums consisting of Forum 1 (Lead Self), Forum 2 (Lead Team), and Forum 3 (Lead Change) with the tasks in two forums. Forum 1 was held at Grand Kemang Hotel, Jakarta, 23-24 May 2015. It consisted of various agendas such as The Archipelago Economy: Unleasing Indonesia’s Potential, Breaking Down The Problem – Defining & Structuring, Taking Action to Solve The Problem – Prioritizing & Action Plan, etc. It was also attended by Wenas (MatahariMall.com CEO) and Butet Manurung (Sokola Founder).
The 2015 National YLI was fully supported by McKinsey&Company, one of the biggest consultant company from USA. The company provided full scholarship for the participants. Therefore, they should create a Personal Leadership Project (PLP) for 2.5 months until Forum 2 event. “I presented Karung Goni Learning Center (KGLC) as the development of Karung Goni Reading Center in Ngemplak, Caturharjo, Sleman. KGLC focuses on three aspects, namely Library Service, Non-Formal Education and Youth Empowerment,” said Janu.
“I hope the positive values of this event are able to bring positive effects to students, environment and society,” Janu closed. (Janu)
