UNY was invited to take part in a video conference hosted by Sleman Regency. The theme for the meeting was “Gathering and directive of Sleman Regent on fighting against Covid-19”. The meeting was facilitated using Zoom application on 29 May 2020.  The video conference was attended by members of Sleman Forkopinda, the sub district heads of Sleman Regency, several universities representative and several business representative.

Based on Governor of Yogyakarta Decree No. 121/2020 on the status of covid-19, Yogyakarta will keep the disaster status from 30 May to 30 June 2020. The extension is set based on the fact that the pandemic has unique nature that may need more time to be solved. The Regent also pointed out the importance to ensure both cash and non-cash support for those affected by the pandemic efficiently distributed up to June. It is possible that Yogyakarta may adopt new normal policy on July. 

Regarding the commencement of lectures, the plan will begin around July, in accordance with the protocol of covid-19. It is important for students who will continue their study in Yogyakarta must have health letter. For those Sleman resident who will continue to work or study outside the area are recommended to fulfil any requirement applied on the local area. (sud; Tj.Lak)
