OIAP AND LPPMP READY TO SEND STUDENTS FOR FIELD PRACTICE IN MALAYSIA

Just like the previous years, Yogyakarta State University continues to send its students in their 6th semester for joining international field practice in Malaysia. LPPMP (Institute of Educational Development and Quality Assurance) is responsible for the program along with the Office of International Affairs and Partnership (OIAP) to hold the selection of the student candidate.

That is why, on Wednesday (8/6/2016), at the OIAP classroom and the East Senate room, the selection for the candidate participating in the international field practice was conducted. The selection includes interview, teaching practice and the cultural skills that they possessed. The candidates are interviewed in two languages, Indonesian and English. The content of the interview consists of their knowledge in the education system in Malaysia, culture, food and the environment.

The candidates will be sent to the three universities in Malaysia, namely Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), and Universitas Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). “The purpose of this program is to enrich the knowledge of the YSU’s students, especially on how to teach abroad”, as expressed by the staff of Overseas Partnership who handles the departure for the students, Ratna Anugrah, S.S.,

Besides that, the dispatch of the students for the international field practice is one of YSU’s strategies towards World Class Educational University (WCEU). The interviewer are Dr. Sulis Triyono, M.Pd. and Eko Widodo, M.Pd from LPPM. Meanwhile, for the OIAP, Dr.Ing. Satoto E. Nayono, Losina Purnastuti Ph. D, Endah Retnowati, Ph. D,Retna Hidayah, Ph.D, and Wahyu Setiyaningrum, Ph. D. were present. “From 47 candidates, only 23 will be selected,” said Retna Hidayah, Ph.D. (Wulan)
