Sunday, July 6th 2015, an Iftar Food and Music Festival was held by students of the Teacher Profession Training of Scholars Teaching in Outmost, Disadvantaged, Frontier Regions of Indonesia Batch 3.
The event was held at the YSU Wates Campus Dormitory. The students participating in this event was a collaboration between Culinary Activity Unit and Music Unit.
253 participants took part in this program. They are enrolled at 13 departments. The event include iftar menus display and music performances. For each department, students provided food and drinks with a variety of choices. 6 music bands performing in this event were MGS Band, Karo’LiNa Band, Galaxy Band, Imok Band, Sony and Jhony Band, Lasson Plan Band. There was also a special percussion performance by Hadroh AL-Fatih.
To get the iftar food and drinks, each participant has a coupon in exchange that was provided by the committee. The foods and drinks prepared were special ones because the students of Culinary Activity Unit have learned to make them every weekend in the dorm.
In general, this event is to strengthen the students’ bond and develop their creativity within the frame of Ramadhan Iftar.
