Kontes Robot Indonesia (KRI) or Indonesia Robot Contest is a robot competition for all universities in Indonesia. This competition is held at regional and national level. On April 27, 2019, UNY Robotics Team has competed in regional 3 level. At this level, university who participated coming from Yogyakarta, Central Java and Kalimantan. Universitas Jendral Sudirman became the host for the event.

For regional 3 level, UNY Robotics team participated in Kontes Robot ABU Indonesia (KRAI) or ABU Robot Contest; Kontes Robot Sepak Bola Indonesia Beroda (KRSBI Beroda) or Wheeled Football  Robot Contest;  Kontes Robot Sepak Bola Indonesia Humanoid (KRSBI Humanoid) or Humanoid Football Robot Contest; Kontes Robot Seni Tari Indonesia (KRSTI) or Dance Robot Contest; and Kontes Robot Pemadam Api Indonesia Berkaki (KRPAI Berkaki) or Legged Fire Extinguisher Robot Contest. This year, UNY Robotics Team achieved the first rank for university who earned the most awards. UNY successfully won the first place for ABU Robot and ABU Robot best design on KRAI Division; first winner for dancing robot on KRSTI Division; first winner Legged Fire Extinguisher Robot on KRPAI Division; Second place for Wheeled Football  Robot on KRSBI Division; and Second place for humanoid Football  Robot on KRSBI Division.

Julizar Handi Wijaya, Team Leader of UNY Robotics Team 2019, said that the great result come from the hard work of both of the technical and managerial team. This achievement is a real feat for the team who unfortunately had slumped down in last few years. "We hope that in the national KRI in June, we can maintain our achievement to win further in every division category," Julizar added. (er)
