YSU ROBOT TEAM MEETS UTM ROBOCON TEAM

Robot team of Student Activity Unit of Technological Engineering of YSU met Robocon team of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to share and discuss robotic development issue in Meeting Room of Faculty of Engineering of YSU, Tuesday (25/8/15). The guest team has recently participated in Asia-Pasific Broadcasting Union (ABU) robot competition held in Yogyakarta. Mohd Ridzuan Ahmad, Ph.D, Malaysian team leader, expressed his happiness to meet robot team of YSU. “It is an important forum for our students to share their robotical knowledge in each universities and their experiences to attend both national or international robot competitions,” he said.

Meanwhile, YSU robot team supervisor, Moh. Khoirudin, Ph.D., said that the cooperation between YSU and UTM has been build long enough. “The realization is the Teaching Practice Program of YSU students in Malaysian School under the supervision of UTM and vice versa,” he added.

“I hope the cooperation between two universities will extend into robotic matter,” said Khoirudin,Ph.D.

"YSU robot is in the right track to develop and we think we should learn much from UTM in their national or international experiences in robot competition,” he said.

During the profil presentation session, Intan, the representative of Student Activity Unit of Technological Engineering of YSU showed the documentation of YSU achievement at 2015 Indonesian Robot Competition Regional 3. “We sent five teams at that time, namely Indonesian ABU Contest, Indonesian Art Robot Contest, Wheeled Fire Fighter Robot Contest, Non-wheeled Fire Fighter Robot Contest, and Badminton Robot Contest,” she said.

Lee Chee Heng, the representative of Robocon team of UTM said that the team has participated in various international robot competition, namely in Korea, Beijing, India, Thailand, and Indonesia. “We have started our international competition vision since 2002,” he said. (hryo)
