The involvement of parents in children’s education is known as one of the factors that has an influence on the improvement of academic skills and socio-personal skills of the students.  There are many types of parents’ involvement in education that have been implemented in school. Some of parent’s involvement in student’s education in school are: Parents and Teachers Association (POMG), School Committee, Parents’ participation on the event conducted by the school, and parents’ participation in providing school facility.

Research conducted by Nur Wiarsih as a theme in her dissertation is about child education KOPHO model which is a model of parents’ involvement based on strengthening the relationship between parents and teachers that refers to two main model which are: Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) and The Great Family model by The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). According to Nur Wiarsih, the succession implementation of KOPHO is very dependent on parents and teachers. If the teachers have a desire and a strong commitment to push parents about the importance of parents’ involvement in promoting the improvement of children’s academic skills and the socio-personal skills, then most likely parents will provides themselves to be involved in children’s education in school.

And also in the contrary if parents believe that school (teacher) really wants to help to promote the improvement of students’ academic skills and socio-personal skills, so the school (teacher) is trying as much as possible to the best thing that teachers and all of school’s staff can do. In conclusion, Nur Wiarsih explained through the KOPHO model implementation, it is hope that parents and teachers can help the students to improve their academic skills and socio-personal skills.
