UNY’s Electronics Engineering and Informatics Education Study Program invited Dr. Elizabeth Hartnell-Young from The University of Melbourne as visiting professor. Hartnell has a special interest in professional learning, cellular technology, and large-scale digital systems such as eportfolios. This activity was attended by UNY’s master students of Electronics Engineering and Informatics Education.

Hartnell explained that in learning, teachers can utilize technology, so that it can help teachers deliver material and at the same time assist students in understanding subject matter. Learning technology is needed to create quality learning. If students want to be ready to work, technology must become an inseparable part of school and classroom learning.

Hartnell revealed that she has experience in school education as a teacher, coordinator of professional development and school principals in high schools, as well as experience in higher education in Australia and the United Kingdom. "Education and technology, especially cellular technology, are currently inseparable. Cellular technology has the ease of grasp which can make it easy for users to access it,"Hartnell added.
