UNY's Science Education Program Undergoes LAMDIK Accreditation Assessment

On April 23, 2025, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) hosted a field assessment for its Bachelor of Science Education program, conducted by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Teacher Education (LAMDIK). The assessment aimed to evaluate the program's quality and readiness for accreditation. The session was inaugurated by UNY's Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Soni Nopembri, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., and attended by key university officials, including the Director of Quality Assurance, the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), and the Head of the Science Education Department.​

The assessment team comprised Prof. Dr. Wahono Widodo, M.Si. from Universitas Negeri Surabaya and Prof. Dr. Niken Subekti, S.Si., M.Si. from Universitas Negeri Semarang. Both assessors are familiar with UNY and have previously collaborated with the institution. They conducted a comprehensive evaluation, including document reviews and discussions with faculty members, to assess the program's curriculum, learning outcomes, and quality assurance processes.​

In his opening remarks, Prof. Soni emphasized the importance of accreditation as a continuous improvement process for academic programs and institutions. He stated, "Accreditation is a process of enhancing study programs and institutions. We strive to provide input for program development, including curriculum, which is very dynamic. We will support this effort from the university, faculty, and the Department of Science Education."​

The field assessment reflects UNY's commitment to maintaining high educational standards and ensuring that its programs meet national accreditation criteria. The university anticipates that the feedback from LAMDIK will contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of its Science Education program.
