The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences succeeded in obtaining assistance for the 2022 Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

"This year, we will carry out community service in Brajan Village with the theme "Development of a Biodiversity-Based Conservation Area for Local Leading Medicinal Plants in Brajan Village, Klaten, Central Java," said the team leader, Hanifah. This activity will take place from July to November 2022. The student team that Heru Sukoco, S.Si. M.Pd supervised, consisted of 15 students from the Mathematics Study Program (5 students), Physics Education (4 students), Biology Education (4 students), and Chemistry Education (2 students).

This community service activity focuses on developing a local biodiversity-based medicinal plant conservation area from Brajan Village. Based on the team's survey results, Brajan Village has medicinal plants such as telang(Clitoria ternatea), ginger(Zingiber officinale), kencur(Kaempferia galanga), turmeric(Curcuma longa), betel(Piper betle), and lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus). However, the community has only used several medicinal plants, while the rest are still experiencing difficulties in managing and planting them. Therefore, it is necessary for students to play a role in helping the preservation and utilization of these medicinal plants.
