Wuling Motors collaborates with Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) in education, research, community service, and resource and industrial development. To officially mark this collaboration, Maulana Hakim as Aftersales Director Wuling and Prof. Sumaryanto as Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 29, 2022 at UNY.
The Rector of UNY said that UNY is ready to synergize with Wuling Motors in terms of lecturers, academic staff, students, and institutions. "We hope that the Faculty of Engineering, UNY will develop better in the future. UNY has qualified human resources, and with positive synergy with Wuling, laboratory facilities will become more credible, accountable, and qualified," said Prof. Sumaryanto. The Rector invited Wuling to present various potential cooperation opportunities. UNY is ready to realize various possible programs or activities with Wuling, following the mutual benefit or win-win solution as a commitment as work partners.
Aftersales Director of Wuling, Maulana Hakim said this collaboration is a manifestation of the Wuling Bakti Pendidikan program that run for one year. For now, this program only focuses on vocational schools to find technicians for car dealers. "This year, we are working at a higher level. We hope that the collaboration with UNY will encourage further development in the field of training, trainer development, and the development of other aspects that support the advancement of education and industry," said Maulana Hakim.
Maulana Hakim informed that Wuling will develop an electric car soon, so knowledge sharing related to electric vehicles will be possible. Wuling also interested in developing training systems, training modules, and trainer development programs. Hopefully, it will benefit the training process at Wuling to support the improvement of the knowledge and skills of technicians in the field.
Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation, Prof. Siswantoyo said that UNY has a lot of potential for collaboration with Wuling, including vocational schools. In addition, UNY is also ready to collaborate with existing human resources. Prof. Siswantoyo also offers study opportunities for Wuling Motors leaders and staff through the Past Learning Recognition scheme. UNY will academically recognize various learning achievements from formal education, non-formal education, informal education, and work experience as the basis for continuing formal education to make qualifications at the higher education level equal.
