On Tuesday (4/1/2022), the Rector of the Universitas Islam Malang(UNISMA), Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Sc., accompanied by the Vice-Rectors as well as the Deans and Head of the International Affairs Office, visited Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). The Rector of UNY, Prof.Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes together with the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Finance, and the Deans and several other officials, welcomed UNISMA as prospective partners.
Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes. warmly welcomed and invited UNISMA lecturers who wish to continue their further studies for masters and doctoral degrees.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Margana, M.Hum, explained that UNY has 1442 lecturers, 80% of whom have doctoral degrees and already have 114 professors. In addition, Margana also explained that up to now, UNY already has 60 undergraduate study programs (37 Education Study Programs and 23 Non-Educational Study Programs), 33 Master's Degree Study Programs, and 14 Doctoral Programs.
"UNY also has vocational programs located at the Wates and Gunungkidul campuses, professional teacher program, and Engineers Programs," added Margana.
"We from UNISMA hope that in the future there will be a sustainable collaboration between UNY and UNISMA so that we can work together to achieve goals for the common good," said Professor Maskuri when conveying the purpose of the visit.
According to Professor Maskuri, several future collaborations may come in a journal writing project, book writing, Community Service Program, and several other programs. UNISMA currently has 18 professors. Of 413 lecturers, around 35% already have a doctoral degree. UNISMA has ten faculties with 36 study programs with a total of 16 thousand students, of which there are 400 international students.
The meeting closed with an MoU signing ceremony between UNY and UNISMA and continued by MoA signing between the Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS) of UNY and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNISMA.
