Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta officially inaugurated Prof. Dr. Harun, M.Pd. and Prof. Dr. Dimyati, M.Si. as the 167th and 168th UNY professor on December 12, 2020. Prof. Dr. Harun, M.Pd. was acknowledged as a professor in the field of Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Education, while Prof. Dr. Dimyati, M.Si. inaugurated as a professor in the field of Sports Psychology at the Faculty of Sport Science, UNY.
In his inauguration speech, Prof.Harun said that dynamic assessment for early childhood is often marked by the interaction of teachers and students with the aim of optimizing early childhood performance during the assessment. Dynamic assessment methods tend to emphasize the learning process rather than the product. Dynamic assessment yields information on early childhood abilities after receiving interventions, the intensity of interventions needed to facilitate early childhood competence, the nature of processes that impede optimal performance, and types of interventions that promise to increase early childhood mastery of the assigned task.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dimyati in his speech concluded that there are at least two challenges that need to be considered, namely: (1) how to make Sports Psychology an important part of national sports development; and (2) how to increase the trainers' knowledge and understanding of the importance of MFI as a tool of Sports Psychology for fostering and increasing mental toughness of young athletes.
