UNY Students Creativity Program Team won as favorite winner in National Students Scientific Week (Pimnas) in Bali. The team consist of Lilik Nurkhamid and Andi Siyam Mawardi (Fine Arts Education), Najla Ifa Mumtaza (Accounting Education), Anggi Fatika Sari (Chemical Education) and Nadhila Hibatul Nastikaputri (Indonesian Language and Literature). The team made the work under title “Panji Mask Backpack as Gunungkidul Iconic Handicraft” as unique souvenir of Gunungkidul.
According to Lilik Nurkhamid, Panji mask backpack is made of leather. The leather backpack has potential value as alternative souvenir for tourist. “We adopted the element of Panji mask from the wooden batik mask from Bobung Tourism Village in Gunungkidul,” Lilik said. “By making backpack with Panji mask style, hopefully it will increase the selling price of the back and also preserving local culture,” Lilik explained further. Andi Siyam Mawardi hopes that this work will not stop only as favorite winner for Pimnas, but also it will be developed further in the future.(Dedy;Tj.Lak)
