UNY Faculty of Sport Sciences , Thursday (11/14) had the opportunity to receive guests from IFP (International Federation of Pickleball), Jeff van der Hulst. He is a Level 2 Instructor International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association. On the occasion Jeff handed over 12 paddles and 6 balls for indoor as well as 6 balls used in outdoor fields.
On the occasion that was very pleasant, there were also leaders of FIK, lecturers and students who took part in enlivening the atmosphere. Located at the UNY FIK Badminton Hall, Jeff gave a tutorial on how to play Pickleball. Pickleball itself is a combination of 3 sports. Namely, tennis, badminton and table tennis. Using a badminton court and net as high as tennis, the game is done with a minimum of 2 people or it can be with double players.
Jeff, accompanied by Sri Dewi, taught how to serve, receive the ball, hit with a paddle, and how to raise the level of the Pickleball game. This game can be played indoors and outdoors. The only difference is the ball. The ball used indoors is thicker and has fewer holes, while the balls used outdoors have more holes and are slightly thinner. A total of 3 fields were prepared, and all enjoyed the game. Pickleball is very easy to play, because it does not require power when hitting the ball like tennis, it does not require high speed like table tennis or badminton. But this Pickleball requires concentration and feel when receiving and hitting the ball. So for those of you who want to be fit and fit, try the Picklebal game. (PD; Tj.Lak)
