Fighting in the international arena to the name of the nation is the dream of all Indonesian students. Successfully lifting Indonesia’s name in other countries, especially when the moment of independence as it is now was a special gift at the 72nd anniversary of RI. It was Prima Wisnu Wardhana, a student of Physical, Health, and Recreation Education (PJKR) UNY Faculty of Sport Science, who recently won SEA Games 2017 gold medal in Malaysia. Prima succeeded in winning the gold medal in the archive of individual male compound darts after finishing the Malaysian representative Mohd Juwaidi Mazuki with a score of 145-144 in Synthetic Turf Field, National Sports Council, Kuala Lumpur Sports City, Malaysia.
Feelings of joy and pride to be able to bring Indonesia in the international arena is difficult to express. "We hope the success of achieving international achievement can bring UNY more qualified," said Prima. Prima along with Sri Yanti successfully combine the numbers of individual and male compound individual even though both of them are not targeted to win gold medal by Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani), let alone they have to face a serious opponent in the final party.
Meanwhile, Claudia Megawati Suyanto, alumnus of FSS UNY from PJKR Department who graduated last year also contributed bronze medal at synchronized swimming number 'duet technical routine' on Friday (18/8). Claudia along with her partner Annisa Feritrianti stated that their bronze medal success is due to having mutual trust and focus on her appearance.
Previously, the Indonesian flagship pair was able to achieve medals at the same number at the SEA Games 2015 in Singapore. Claudia often contributed medals to national and international swimming championships such as wiping out gold medals in three categories at the National Sports Week (PON) of West Java 2016 and the International Jogja Open Championship in Kulon Progo followed by participants from ASEAN and Australia.
