Indonesia is always full of its youths’ masterpieces. One of them was Rosemery. Rosemery were dancing robots which were created by Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta’s students. These robots got the first winner in the Indonesia Dancing Robot Contest (Kontes Robot Seni Tari Indonesia) which was held on 8 – 9 July 2017 in Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This contest was an annually prestigious competition held by The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Republic of Indonesia. This year, there were 93 robots coming from various universities in Indonesia to compete. This contest was fierce because each university performed at their best.
Rosemery UNY successfully got the first rank of the KRSTI (the dancing robot category) after competing with 15 other robots from other universities. The second rank was Erisa from Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, the third rank was Alfan from Universitas Gadjah Mada, and the fourth rank was Adhira-Aruna from Universitas Brawijaya.
Rosemery were two beautiful Robots. They wore traditional dress full of gold beads. They performed Gending Sriwijaya dance harmoniously and elegantly.Their hands and fingers movements were like the dancing princesses. Rosemery also played their yellow scarf while demonstrating their dance abilities to the jury and audiences. This dance was more captivating with the accompaniment of Gending Sriwijaya music.
Rosemery would not perform well without the men behind it. Rosemery was created by a solid team, led by Vando Gusti Alhakim (Mechatronics Engineering 2014). "I never expected that we got the first rank because there were many other great teams. Even in the preliminary round until the semi-final, we encountered obstacles. Alhamdulillah since our sprightly teamwork, Rosemery could perform excellently. It really made us nervous firstly." said Vando. Through the two days competition, it was clear that the technology development kept increasing. The Government of Indonesia appreciated each student’s work in every university. Hopefully, technology would continue to raise Indonesia in the world. (Azizah)
