YSU GRANTED THE HOST OF INDONESIAN RECTORS’ FORUM

“Indonesian Rector’s Forum is the biggest forum to be held in Yogyakarta, as more than 1000 rectors of universities and higher education institutions would attend the agenda”, says Prof. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A., in Press Conference for Indonesian Rector’s Forum (IRF) held on 29 – 31 January, 2016. In front of 13 journalists from various regional and national-scaled media, he ascertained that Yogyakarta State University (YSU) is granted the Host of 2016 IRF.

Established on 7 November 1998, IRF has been conducted in the recent 12 years. According to the existing tradition, IRF is organized in the city where the Chief of IRF belongs. For the administration periof of 2015-2016, Prof. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A., the YSU Rector, has been elected the Chief of IRF. Therefore, YSU is mandated the host of 2016 IRF with the theme of “Mental Revolution to Stenghthen A Nation’s Character”.

The Press Conference was held in West Senate Room, YSU Rectorate Building, with the goal of promoting 2016 IRF thus people and recidents in Yogyakarta would be much more well-prepared in welcoming the respectable guesses. Rochmat Wahab also asserted the journalists could cover and make report on the big event given the significance of the event and the influence toward the nation’s current situation.

According to the agreed plan, the Indonesian President year 2014-2019, Ir. Joko Widodo, will also attend the event as a keynote speaker and will present “Mental Revolution to Strengthen A Nation’s Character”. Also, several national figures will play a role as the speakers, namely Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak. (Ministry of Research and Higher Education), Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X (Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region), K.H. Ahmad Hasyim Muzadi, Prof. Dr. H. Syafii Maarif, Drs. Budi Waseso, S.H. and Prof. Dr. Mahfud MD. In addition, the Chief of Corruption Eradication Commission is also scheduled to attend the agenda. (Wulan)
