Josef Richardo Rupa Nunang, a 2021 UNY student, created Tee Bites, a sweet tempe-based snack that has gained popularity. The name "Tee Bites" combines "Tee" for tempe and "Bites" to suggest a snack enjoyed in one or two bites.

Initially passionate about pastries and cookies, Josef aimed to create cookie pops targeted at children. After considering various options, he settled on Tee Bites, a checkerboard cookie with a unique tempe flavor. The product quickly became a hit among children.

Josef explained that Tee Bites is made from local soy tempe, which is cut, steamed, and dried before being processed into flour. The product was developed over several months, from concept in February 2024 to production in June 2024. Production was carried out independently in two locations: the PTBB Chemistry Lab and Josef's residence.

Tee Bites, which has a shelf life of 1-2 weeks, was launched with faculty approval and featured at a National Tempe Day exhibition. The product’s taste, packaging, and durability were validated by Josef’s faculty advisor.
