Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has officially inaugurated five new professors in a ceremony held at the Rectorate on Saturday, December 28, 2024. These distinguished academics include are Prof. Dr. Ratna Candra Sari, M.Si. (Professor of Behavioral Financial Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business);
Prof. Dr. Tien Aminatun, S.Si., M.Si. (Professor of Environment, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences); Prof. Dr. Ariyadi Wijaya, M.Sc. (Professor of Mathematical Reasoning and Literacy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences); Prof. Dr. Kana Hidayati, M.Pd. (Professor of Educational Measurement and Assessment in Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences); Prof. Basikin, S.Pd., M.Phil., M.Ed., Ph.D. (Professor of English Teacher Development, Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture).
In his remarks, UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto extended congratulations to the newly inaugurated professors, emphasizing the milestone as a pinnacle achievement in their academic careers. “This year, UNY has successfully appointed 36 professors, nine of whom have delivered inaugural lectures. With today's event, we add five more professors. We are planning further stages for the inauguration lectures,” he explained. The Rector reaffirmed UNY's commitment to developing human resources among lecturers, staff, and students.
Each professor delivered an inaugural lecture during the ceremony. Prof. Ratna Candra Sari presented "Artificial Intelligence Innovation in Accounting to Detect Greenwashing". Prof. Tien Aminatun explained "Utilization of Biological Components to Address Environmental Issues in the Era of Sustainable Development". Prof. Ariyadi Wijaya exposed the importance of "The Tripartite Model for Strengthening Mathematical Literacy: Mindset, Knowledge, and Skills". while Prof. Kana Hidayati presented "Alignment between Assessment and Curriculum in Mathematics Education", and Prof. Basikin explained "Developing the Ideal English Teacher"
This significant event is expected to enhance UNY's role as a leading higher education institution at both national and international levels. Furthermore, it serves as a catalyst for advancing research and innovation.
