Yogyakarta – Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has admitted 2,497 new students through the National Test-Based Selection (Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Tes/SNBT) 2026 admission pathway. The intake comprises 2,272 undergraduate (Bachelor's) students and 225 applied bachelor's (D4) students, selected from 60,063 applicants who chose UNY as their preferred university.

According to Prof. Eduart Wolok, Chair of the 2026 National Student Admission Committee (SNPMB), the SNBT 2026 recorded a total of 871,496 applicants, including 372 applicants with disabilities. Nationwide, candidates competed for 286,864 available seats, consisting of 228,118 undergraduate seats, 33,510 applied bachelor's (D4) seats, and 25,236 diploma (D3) seats.

Among those admitted nationwide were 69 students with disabilities, comprising 28 visually impaired students, 22 students with physical disabilities, 17 deaf students, and 2 students with speech impairments.

UNY Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Nur Hidayanto Pancoro Setyo Putro, congratulated the newly admitted students and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity.

"Congratulations to all prospective UNY students admitted through the SNBT pathway. This year, UNY attracted 60,063 applicants. Make the most of this opportunity because it may not come twice," he said.

He also reminded admitted students to complete academic document verification and registration according to the official schedule.

Head of UNY Admissions, Dr. Bambang Saptono, explained that all admitted students must complete the socio-economic data form for the determination of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) through the UNY registration portal using their SNBT participant number and date of birth. The submission period runs from May 26 to June 10, 2026.

Students who fail to submit the required information by the deadline will automatically be assigned the highest UKT category. The tuition fee determination results will be announced on June 15, 2026.

Non-KIP Scholarship recipients are required to pay the UKT, medical and drug screening fees, and physical fitness package fees between June 15 and June 29, 2026, through designated partner banks using a Virtual Account generated during the registration process.

Recipients of the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP-Kuliah) are only required to pay the medical examination, drug screening, and physical fitness package fees during the same period. Their tuition fees will be processed after the official confirmation of scholarship recipients by the Higher Education Financing and Assessment Center (PPAPT) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.

UNY emphasized that tuition and registration payments are non-refundable, except in cases where applicants fail to graduate from senior secondary school or its equivalent.

Prospective students must complete their online registration through the UNY registration portal between June 15 and June 30, 2026 using their SNBT participant number and date of birth.

For applicants who were not admitted through the SNBT pathway, Dr. Bambang Saptono encouraged them not to lose hope, as UNY continues to offer Independent Admission (Seleksi Mandiri) for both undergraduate and applied bachelor's programs through various admission schemes. In addition, UNY is accepting applications for its International Undergraduate Program (IUP) until July 3, 2026.

Among all study programs offered by UNY, the Applied Bachelor's Program in Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Vocational Studies was the most competitive, with an admission ratio of 1:163.2. It was followed by the Applied Bachelor's Program in Mechanical Engineering (1:109.8) and the Applied Bachelor's Program in Electrical Engineering (1:93.3).
