Online assessment is a structured and careful evaluation of an individual's skills, characteristics, knowledge, or expertise. This test is organized online through modern web-based technology.

In this Academic Discussion held by the S3 PEP SPS UNY Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tajularipin Sulaiman from the Faculti Pendidikan Universitas Putra Malaysia explained Authentic Assessment in the Online Scope. Authentic Assessment means providing assessment opportunities like tasks in the 'real world'. It is a set of methods or techniques for assessing student academic achievement, including activities requiring applying acquired knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

Tajularipin explained that Authentic Assessment is performing real-world tasks (or solving problems similar to real-world studies) that demonstrate meaningful application of specialized knowledge, skills, and competencies used by adult citizens, consumers, and professionals.

Tajularipin added that Authentic Assessment should be the center of any online learning.
