Education is a conscious and planned effort to create an atmosphere of learning and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have spiritual spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills needed by themselves, the community and the nation. There are many reasons why character education must be a priority in education. For this reason, on September 6, 2017, President Joko Widodo signed Presidential Decree no. 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education.

Strengthening Character Education aims to build and equip students as the golden generation of Indonesia in 2045 with the soul of Pancasila and good character education in order to face the dynamics of future change. Associated with the cultivation of character in the Taruna Nusantara High School in Magelang has been running character education seriously. Asep Sukendar, as one of the teaching staff at Taruna Nusantara High School, wrote a Dissertation entitled "Management of Character Education in the Magelang District High School" to reveal the planning, organization, implementation of supervision and strategy of character education in Magelang Regency High School.

The results of his research show that school planning is more focused on the achievement of character education that is typical in the school, namely on the aspects of character values, which are religious, moral, nationalism, personality and leadership.
