Closing Ceremony of SIEU Students Joining International Field Practice at 1 Bantul Public Special School

"I’m surprissed that the students could adapt so quickly", as revealed by Dr. Haniz bin Ibrahim, in the agenda of the Closing Ceremony of Field Practice by students of Sultan Idris Education University (SIEU) at 1 Bantul Public Special School. The event took place on Thursday 29 October, from 09.00 to 10.30. The event was held in the Senate Meeting Room, YSU Rectorate building. Attending the ceremony were YSU leaders, namely Dr. Haryanto, M. Pd as the Dean of Faculty of Education, Dr.-Ing Satoto E Nayono MEng MSc as the head of the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP), and Ngatman, M. Pd. as the head of the PL-PPL & PKL (Unit of Field Practice). Also, Dr. Hariz, bin Ibrahim as the supervising lecturer from Sultan Idris Education University was invited in the agenda.

The agenda began with presentation by SIEU students regarding the report of field practice in Bantul. Illi Amalina, an SIEU student, said "The joint-field practice trained us competencies in education & teaching". In this agenda, she and all other SIEU students detailed some constrains they encountered during teaching at 1 Bantul Special School; two of which are lesson plan and the curriculum in Indonesia that are different from that of Malaysia.

On the same agenda,YSU students who recently did International Field Practice in Malaysia shared their experience during teaching in one of the vocational schools in Malaysia."In Malaysia, most school buildings are large, we got a lot of experience during teaching", as said by one of the YSU students from the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Department.

At the end of the session, the SIEU students were given back to the representative of SIEU, Dr. Hariz, bin Ibrahim. He suggested his expectations so this international field practice can persistently be held in the future. (Wulan)
