Along with the development of science, knowledge, and technology in sports, Faculty of Sport Science continues to be active and open to networking and cooperation with various stakeholders of sports both at home and abroad. This is reflected in the acceptance of the Head of the College of Health Sciences (STIKes) Muhammadiyah Palembang by the Dean and the ranks of FIK leaders on Monday (30/7) in Rapim FIK UNY. Currently the reputation and interest of the community to choose Sport Science study program is increasing from year to year, said Dean of FIK, Wawan S. Suherman, in his speech as well as explanation of the development of Science Sport (Ikor) study program today. Furthermore, Wawan added that human resources (lecturers and practitioners) as well as superior learning facilities of sports science are the instruments to create graduates who are able to adapt to the progress of the era that leads to the changing trend of people's lifestyles. The Ikor Study Program graduates consist of four concentrations (fitness trainers, therapists / masseurs, sports management, and adaptive education absorbed into various modern sports industries such as fitness centers, sports center management, family recreation center management, professional clubs, private, added Dean FIK.
Meanwhile, Sri Yulia, M.Kep., Chairman of STIKes Muhammadiyah Foundation of Palembang expressed his deepest gratitude for the appreciation of FIK UNY in welcoming the introductory visit and the morning cooperation pioneer. Furthermore, Sri Yulia gives great hope to FIK UNY to help 'give birth' of Sport Science study program at STIKes Muhammadiyah Palembang which will now be transformed into Muhammadiyah Institute of Health and Technology Palembang. "We got a recommendation to seek information and ask for help on FIK UNY Sport Science Prodi to later develop the science of sports in South Sumatra", added Sri Yulia. (SP27)
