DEVELOPING COMPETENCE IN DIGITAL AND INDUSTRIAL 4.0 ERA

As part of The Regional Cooperation Program to Improve the Quality and Labor Market Orientation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (RECOTVET), the Faculty of Engineering of UNY sent its delegation, Dr. Putu Sudira and Dewi Eka Muniarti, MM,  to attend the "Innovative Teaching and Learning for Industrial Changes due to Industry 4.0". The training organized by the Personnel Competency Development Bureau under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission in Bangkok (05-16 / 08/2019). This event collaborates with SEAMEO VOCTECH and vocational experts from regional and international background.

According to Dewi,  Vocational Teacher Education institutions from 9 ASEAN Member Countries and Timor Leste joined the training and set full commitment  to improve the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the future through developing the knowledge and skills of its personnel with the principles innovative technical and didactic aspects of Digitalization and Industry 4.0. "This knowledge will be adapted into the curriculum and training plans in each country," she said.

At the end of the training, it is expected that all participants will be able to improve its competence by using training modules with the Learn and Work Assignments (LWAs). Furthermore, the training will give participants skills to plan and develop their own training modules which can be included in their TVET later on. Hopefully, it will be an important contribution at national level.

To give practical samples, the training also give the opportunity to visit Kamon factory, DENSO Thailand and Thailand-Germany Institute di Chonburi province. The visit is a good point on how smart factory and digitalization is implemented in companies and vocational training institution.(Hryo)
