Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) of The Special Region of Yogyakarta signed a memorandum of understanding with UNY on Wednesday (5/4) in the Main Conference Room of the Rectorate. The Chairperson of Karang Taruna of The Special Region of Yogyakarta GKR Hayu and UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto did the signing.

In her speech, GKR Hayu said that Karang Taruna DIY develops productive economic activities, welfare businesses and youth innovation based on digital transformation. "We want to make Karang Taruna more visible, and this MoU hopefully will make Karang Taruna more developed," said Gusti Hayu. Karang Taruna must transform their respective environments positively using information technology. Karang Taruna can provide IT applications for the older generation who may not have imagined it. Yogyakarta has a structure that can collaborate, and Karang Taruna has many cross-aspects. Hence, it is necessary to build networks with various parties, such as universities, the business world and the industrial world. The mission is to improve the human resources of the Youth Organization itself, including so that young people can stay in their respective villages by bringing changes in the village following the vision of the Governor of DIY, who carries out village reform.

UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto welcomed this collaboration, and according to him, this is one of the directions of Ngarso Dalem to preserve the Campus, Kraton (Palace), Village and Office connection. One of the implementations is the Seyegan Golden Village in Margoagung this year which, according to the plan, will be inaugurated by the Governor of Yogyakarta at the end of 2023. "We are ready to support the implementation of development programs in any village and district in Yogyakarta," said the Rector. The Implementation of UNY 'Kampung Emas' in Krapyak IX, Margoagung, Seyegan is part of the effort to develop a village with local food superior products and various training for sustainable communities.
