Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights Articulates YSU on the Issue of Intellectual Property Rights

Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (DGIPR) under the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has invited YSU to cooperate in the field of intellectual property. The signing of a memorandum of understanding has been conducted at Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta, 27 October 2015. In the event, Rector of YSU, Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab M.Pd., M.A. was accompanied by Prof. Madya Suwarsih, Ph.d. (Vice Rector), Prof. Suwarsih Madya, Ph.D. (YSU Vice Rector IV), Prof. Dr, Anik Ghufron, M.Pd., and Aji Abdussalim, S.Pd. (Staff of Staff of Domestic Partnership Division). Attending in the same agenda were representatives of Gajah Mada University, to carry out the same activity.

The signing between the Director of DGIPR and the YSU Rector was guided by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Yasonna H. Laoly, S.H., M.Sc., Ph.D . The signing was in conjunction with the opening of an Indonesia-Japan Intelectual Property Forum.

In his speech, Yasonna revealed that an increased patent system strongly supports for creating a conducive situation in the creative world. The creators and innovators can develop well and can support economic development of the recognition of the existence of patent rights.

In the future, the cooperation includes a few things, such as dissemination of information in the form of socialization, seminars, workshops in the field of intellectual property; the organization of the education/teaching, research, assessment, and community services in the field of intellectual property.
