Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNY won an award at the Anugerah Bapeten 2019 held on July 24, 2019 at the Bidakara hotel in Jakarta. Bapeten (Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency) acknowledge the effort on Nuclear Safety and Security conducted in the Research and Calibration category.

The award was given by the Head of Bapeten Prof. Dr. Jazi Eko Istiyanto and was received by the Head of the Department of Physics UNY, Nur Kadarisman, M.Sc. Nur Kadarisman explained that there were only 2 universities in Indonesia that received this award, namely UNY and UGM.

Nur Kadarisman also explained that UNY Physics Education department Laboratory has been under supervision of Bapeten. This is set by the fact that the laboratory use radioactive materials for practical and research activities.

“We earn the award thanks to our commitment to keep the safety and security standard for using radioactive material for both practical and research activities,” he said. (witono)
