FOOD INNOVATION OF UNY STUDENTS WON SILVER MEDALS AT WICE 2021

Diabetes is a health problem that has a serious impact on the quality of human life. Therefore, it is very natural that various efforts to prevent diabetes in vulnerable groups and provide solutions for diabetics are very important.

The UNY student team consisted of Ahzami Fadilah Akbar (Electrical Engineering), Wulan Febrianingsih (Natural Science Education), Siti Vera Lestari (Mathematics Education), Asma Nur Azizah (English Literature), and Intan Diah Kusuma (Culinary Education) through a work entitled “ BETA Healthy Noodle as Staple Food Substitute for Diabetics” tries to provide solutions for diabetics in terms of alternative food. The work of the UNY student team has won a Silver Medal at the 2021 World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE).

“This competition is participated by elementary, secondary, universities from all over the world. Registration for the competition is open from 1/4/21 and ends with closing on 30/9/21. There are 300 teams from 29 countries participating in the competition,” said Wulan.
