Be alert, don't panic. Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa as the Rector of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) said that this philosophy continues to be emphasized by the campus to face the corona virus pandemic. In order to increase awareness of Corona, UNY launched a smartphone application to prevent the spreading of CIVID-19. This application is titled "Cova-Covid-19". Launched through an announcement on UNY's social media on Friday (3/27), this application has been downloaded more than a thousand times through the Google Play Store."This initiative is a means for UNY members to wisely respond to the Corona virus pandemic," Sutrisna said in a press release published by UNY Public Relations.

The COVA - UNY application was developed by the university in collaboration with students who are members of the Information Technology Community (@ infinite.uny UKM Teknologi Teknologi). This application has features such as health protocols, Rector's instructions, case statistics, distribution maps, up-to-date information, practical guidelines for online lectures, to health check protocols at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

The data displayed also covers everything about the Corona pandemic. For example steps that can be taken to maintain cleanliness, pray and implement a healthy lifestyle that has been recommended by the government. Because based on data from the government processed by Covid-19 Crisis Center UNY, the validity and accuracy provided by this application can be maintained.

"So that this application can be an anti-hoax application and enlighten the UNY community," Sutrisna said
With the existence of the COVA-Covid-19 Awareness application, it is hoped that the UNY academic community will play an active role in preventing the spread of Covid-19 in the campus and community settings. It is also possible, this application can be used by the wider community to obtain information related to Corona.

"For example, the general public who wants to know the protocols and health studies that have been implemented by the campus, can be read and then become best practices to be carried out in their respective environments. Hopefully, this application can contribute to jointly fight the Corona virus, "added Sutrisna. (Ilham Dary A; Tj.Lak)
