MoU signing between Yogyakarta State University and Ajou University, South Korea

The dean of the faculty of Engineering, Dr. Moch Bruri Triyono discussed the possibility of collaboration programs between Yogyakarta State University and Ajou University, South Korea. The discussion was preceeded by Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing. Ajou University was represented by Prof. Young-Tae Oh, the dean of Intellegent Transportation System (ITS) Graduate School, Ajaou University.

The MoU signing was held in Best Western Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday, (June 2nd 2014). The head of the Automotive Engineering Education Department of YSU, Dr. Zainal Arifin was also present in the occasion.

 

The dean said that international network is needed to catch up with the latest technology in education and to up date lecturers’ and students’ knowledge technology.

 

Dr. Zainal Arifin added that soon both universities would conduct research collaboration in information technology related to traffic network information system. Besides, guest lecturing about transportation safety and student exchange will also be conducted.

He also said that this was a great opportunity for YSU Faculty of Engineering as Ajou university has a long history in automotive and transportation engineering. Ajou University also has Ajou Motor College which has an excellent automotive design division. “It will be great if our students can learn from them,” he said. (oiap)
