To further strengthen the partnership, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of education, research, and community service with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk on Friday, October 1, 2021.

The event was attended by UNY Leaders (the Rector of UNY, the Vice-Rectors, the Deans, the Chairpersons of institutions and officials of the Graduate Program) and PT WIKA executives (Operational Director 2 of PT WIKA, President Director of PT WIKA Industri Energi (Winner), Marketing Director of Winner accompanied by General Managers and Managers) that took place in the Post-Graduate Building UNY.

Through his speech, the Rector UNY, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto M. Kes., hoped that the synergy that would be established between UNY and PT WIKA could run efficiently, effectively, and could be manifested soon. The Rector of UNY also advised his colleagues to optimize all forms of cooperation, since UNY is currently heading to the University of Legal Entities (PTN-BH) thus it needs support from various parties.

Based on that, Harum Akhmad Zuhdi as Director of Operations 2 fully supports UNY's goal by making UNY as one of the universities that utilize green energy in accordance with government programs to accelerate renewable energy.

"Our commitment to making solar power plants (PLTS) is to be a medium of learning research and development laboratories in UNY," explained Harum Akhmad.

Harum Akhmad added, "In order to better understand in terms of the production process, we invite the UNY academic community to explore the research in the Wika industrial area in Cileungsi Bogor,".

With this collaboration, it aimed to develop and utilize renewable energy products in the country to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. (Khairani Faizah, Tj.Dev)
