Training in Strategies for Entering the Workforce at the Faculty of Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences supports its alumni career development through a training in strategies for entering the workforce. This training was conducted at the Ki Hajar Dewantara Seminar Room. Dra.Magdalena Sukartono, the CEO of Paramitra Laboratory, was present along with other speakers namely L. Sari Yekti Kuntari, S.Psi., Psi.(Psychologist), R. Agus Supriyanto, S.H., M.Hum., (Head of Yogyakarta Regional Civil Service Body), and Noor Saif Muhammad Mussafi, M.Sc. (Owner of Pamela Supermarket).
“The current condition of employment in Indonesia reflects a relatively high unemployment rate. The number of job opportunities available is not as high as the number of university graduates. The competition for entering the workplace is getting tougher,” said Saliman, M.Pd., the Vice Dean for Financial Affairs of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Preparing and guiding the students throughout their career development is necessary. The training aims at giving a big picture of being in workplaces, facing the challenges, and taking career opportunities.
Meanwhile, Terry Irenewaty, M.Hum., the Vice Dean for Student Affairs said that the training also included writing a CV and tips for interview and psycho test. During the training, participants were also actively engaged in the discussions.
