YOGYAKARTA STUDENT COMPANY COMPETITION 2014

Student company is an extracurricular activity in business and management for high school and vocational high school students in Yogyakarta hosted by Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI) or Indonesian Junior Achivement. This organization aims at introducing and teaching business and economics education and application form elementary school level to higher education  level in Indonesia.

In hosting the SC, PJI worked collaboratively with Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of YSU Centre for Research and Community Service as the daily program host at schools, Sleman Regency Department of Youth and Sports as endorser, and GE Lighting Ltd. as sponsor.

Yogyakarta Student Company Competition 2014 was held at YSU Centre for Research and Community Development Buildingon Thursday, August 8th 2014. The SC program  will peak at the international competition joined by contestants from Asia-Pacific countries. Referring to Robert Gardiner,  the Executive Director of Indonesian Junior Achievement , this regional competition is an initial competition before national level competition which will be held on August 22nd 2014, in Jakarta.

“This competition shall ignite the spirit of enterpreneurship among students. The best student company will represent Yogyakarta in the national level competition in Jakarta,” Robert said.

This regional competition was officially opened by the head of YSU Center for Research and Community Development, Mr. Anik Gufron who encouraged students to be successful entrepreneurs. (oiap)
