In its 51st anniversary, YSU strives to achieve its 2025 vision and missions. This endeavour is done through a number of stages so that YSU will be internationally acknowledged as a world class education university.

“The anniversary moment is employed to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of lecturers, students, or employees’ performances,” Prof. Suwarsih Madya, Ph.D. said to journalists in the press conference of YSU 51st anniversary, on Wednesday (18/2/2015) in YSU Main Hall. The press conference also invited the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Dr. Hartono, and the chairman of the anniversary committee, Dr. Slamet Suyanto.

In response to the question of YSU special target in this anniversary, Suwarsih explained that 2015 is the starting year for YSU 2015-2019 Strategic Plan. “We plan to reach international acknowledgement as a world class education university in 2025. However, it does not mean that we will forget our Indonesian values. We strengthen our cultural root, national position and regional one,” she added.

“We start to boost our collaboration with the local governments in improving education. We strengthen our development programs for our schools and cooperation with local governments in Indonesia,” she added.

“YSU as a higher education institution is obligated to contribute to national education development. In addition, we also cooperate with institutions from USA, Europe, and Asia. The results will come into view in 2019,” she said.

As the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science is the host of this year’s event, Dr. Hartono said that the theme of this year anniversary is related to identity and characteristics of the faculty. (witono)
