YSU HYBRID and ICV Racing Cars to Compete in South Korea and Japan

Saturday morning (2/5/2015), YSU launched the Hybrid Vehicle Odyssey (HVO) 15 and F15 at YSU Rectorate Hall as the commemoration of the National Education Day.
It was the first time for Garuda UNY Racing Team (GURT) to launch HVO15 and F15 to public in complete formation. Although it rained, the YSU civitas academica seemed spirited to witness the launching of the two cars as well as the awarding of YSU Outstanding Students.
YSU Rector, Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A. delivered his proud to GURT which has secured various remarkable achievements in ISGCC for the last two years. “We must support them. We have every reason to be proud of their development and innovation,” he said.
In this launching, YSU Rector and Dr. Bruri Triyono, M.Pd., the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, held a test drive of the two cars followed by Elertrical Vehical test drive by GBPH Probukusumo as the YSU Advisory Board and Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes., as the Vice Rector for Students and Alumni Affairs.
Hybrid HVO15 formula car will use a motorcycle engine from Vario ISS 125. This year, it will participate in 2015 International Student Green Car Competition in South Korea from 29 to 30 May 2015. It is the redesigned HVO14 which gained 1st winner for acceleration category and 1st winner for endurance category.
In addition, F15 will make its debut in 2015 Student Formula Japan in September this year. F15 is ICV (Internal Combustion Vehicle) formula car. Bondan Prakoso, the team leader, showed his optimism to gain maximum performance in the two competitions. (Dyah N.H.)
