YSU Student Joins a National Volunteering Activity in Bangka Belitung Islands

Around 40 students from provinces in Indonesia joined the Global Peace Volunteers Camp in Tobali, South Bangka Island organized by Global Peace Foundation from March 20 to 22, 2015.
The Global Peace Volunteers Camp was opened with an international seminar presenting Prof. Chandra Setiawan (President of Global Peace Foundation Indonesia), Tokuda Yor Ching Poon (GPF Liaison for Global Peace Foundation Indonesia), Rasio Rido Sani (Official of the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and Environment and Gracia Paramitha (Coordinator of UNEP Tunza).
The second day in the camp was competitions with environmental issues as the themes of the competitions. One of the competition was a social project for the communities where the participants live. The prize was a funding for the project.
Laila Nur Rosyidah, a student at YSU Out of School Education Department has succeed in creating a social project that is a community service activity for Tobali residents. Her project gained an award from the General Manager of the Global Peace Foundation, Synyah Rahmi Utami.
