YSU Students Joined the 8th ICAST in Kumamoto University, Japan

     Pebri Nurhayati, a student of the Geography Education Department, and Eryuni, a student of the Physics Education Department of Yogykarta State University, succeeded in selection of the 8th ICAST (International Student Conference on Advance Science and Technology) participants conducted by Kumamoto University, Japan. The annual conference is aimed at developing research and cooperation among universities in the world. It promotes student exchange and JASSO scholarship award for students who wish to study at Kumamoto University.

     The participants came from University of Kumamoto, Shandong University, Yonsei University, Telkom University, Gadjah Mada University, Brawijaya University, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November Surabaya, Sun Yat Sen University, Yogyakarta State University, Bogor Agriculture University, Sichuan University, University Technology Petronas, and Caltex Riau Polytechnic. They joined the program from 11th to 14th December 2013. Opened by the Rector of Kumamoto University, the conference included two days research presentation, one day field trip for introducing natural reseources potentials in Kumamoto, Japan, and on the last day the paper presentation as well as closing.

     “This university offers scholarships for graduate programs. Japan is one of the leading nations in research. There is no doubt about continuing higher education there," Pebri said enthusiastically.
