Batik Anime: Batik Motif Innovation by YSU Students

Batik is one of Indonesian cultural heritage that is well known abroad. This implies that Indonesian youth need to preserve this traditional costume amid the technology advancement. In preserving the cultural heritage, some students of Yogyakarta State University designed contemporary batik motifs in the forms of anime. They are students of Biology Education Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Teaching Junior High School Students at Wolojita, Ende Disrict, Nusa Tenggara Timur

Erma Rahmawati, an alumnus of the Department of Biology Education of Yogyakarta State University, recently has joined the Scholars Teaching in Remote, Outermost, Underdeveloped Areas of Indonesia Program.

YSU Students Developed “GamelanD” Interactive Game

Gamelan is one of the Indonesian cultural heritage which consists of musical instruments played in an orchestra. Originally played in Java, Bali, and Lombok islands, gamelan is now less popular among Indonesian youth despite its being quite popular in other countries.

YSU students took part in organizing English for Holiday 2014 conducted by the Department of English Education. The program started from Monday, June 30th to Friday, July 11th 2014.
