UNY Rugby Team managed to win UNUGIRI Rektor Cup after completing matches which started from 7 to 8 March 2020. This sport event was organized by Ruby Student Activity Unit of Universitas NU Sunan Giri (UNUGIRI) Bojonegoro. There were 6 universities participated namely: UNY, UNESA, UNS, UMS, UTP and UNUGIRI Bojonegoro.

UNY’s Rugby Team came for the matches with M. Danial Al Fikri as the captain. The rest of team were consist of Reza Akmal Zahra, Sulcan Jalu Wardhana, Riza Rahmad Muzaky, Dzulfiqar Lanang Satrianom, Risqi Kurnia Pratama, Hendrik Wiguna, Ilham Maajid Mubarok, La Ode Bedirun, Achmad Faisal Akbar, Rezha Kurniawan, M. Irhas Ferianto, Shodikin, Aji Katon, Fahmi Indra Winatha, Isnain Taufin, Giovanny Gerry Bayu S., and Bagas Jati Pamungkas.

UNY’s Rugby Team meet UNESA‘s on the final match. UNY’s team successfully outplayed UNESA’s team with winning score 74-21. This result put UNESA’s team as the second place followed by UNUGIRI Bojonegoro on the third place.
By having this competition, it is expected that Rugby will be more popular in Indonesia. (PD; Tj.Lak)
