Lecturers of Early Childhood Education Study Program Participated in a Local Pre-school Teachers Training

The opening ceremony and technical explanation of the Inspiring Teacher Training was held on Wednesday, February 2015 at the local department of education at Tepus Dictrict, Gunungkidul, which is located in the southern part of Yogyakarta. Regional Director of the Department of Education of Gunungkidul Regency, head of Early Childhood Education Study Program, and head of the Yogyakarta Branch of Dompet Duafa (an Islamic donation organization) attended this opening ceremony.
57 non-civil servant pre-school teachers join the training program, which is aimed at improving competencies in innovating and conducting learning activities. In collaboration with YSU Early Childhood Education Study Program , Dompet Duafa holds this training as one of the efforts to empower the local community to have better life quality including providing quality education for children especially the disadvantaged ones. The training is conducted from March to June 2015.
This is an initiation of similar programs to conduct in the near future. To officially mark the beginning of the training, the Regional Director of the Department of Education simbolically handed name tags to two of the participating teachers. (jok/wil/ant)
