The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing-UNY has become a strong partner for implementing cooperation in various fields with the Shandong-China province. During his visit to Korea, Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, attended a virtual meeting entitled Investment, Trade, Culture & Tourism Exchange (China-Indonesia). Present from partners included the Ambassador of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, the Director General of Higher Education, Rectors from seven universities in Indonesia, the Deputy Governor of Dezhou, the President of the University of Dezhou, and representatives from both countries.

The events began with remarks from the Deputy Governor, the Ambassador of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, the Secretary General of the ASEAN China Center (ACC), and the Head of Bank Indonesia, Beijing Branch Office. Next was the signing between Shandong and seven universities in Indonesia and the opening of bilateral relations between Shandong and ASEAN. "UNY is ready to implement the 5 in 1 program activities in the form of visiting professors, research collaboration, publications, internships, and learning curriculum for universities," said Prof. Siswantoyo.

Through establishing an international cooperation alliance between the University of China (Shandong) and Indonesia, both parties are expected to contribute to each other in the form of promotion, mutually beneficial cooperation developed in the concept of "belt and road" and the RCEP agreement. This step will encourage progress in education, culture, and other fields. UNY has carried out accelerated academic cooperation in the form of improving human resources together with ACC. The total number of human resources who have succeeded in the training program is 8,000 people within one year. This point is the basis for UNY's involvement in the success of a larger program with Shandong Province.

In closing, internships for UNY students abroad through the MBKM program, joint research, and acceptance of further studies for master and doctoral students will be carried out soon. (Author: Faqih Ma'arif, Editor: Dedy, Tj.Lak)
