In this XXVIII Pimnas (National Student Scientific Week), YSU managed to make a resounding accomplishment with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medals. Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M. Kes. in his capacity as the Vice Rector III YSU, stated in brief that 3 gold medals were achieved in two categories, 2 for poster and 1 for presentation. Two silver medals were attained in two categories, 1 for presentation and 1 for poster 1, while bronze medal was won in the poster category.

"In 2014, YSU secured the 10th rank in Pimnas XXVII in Diponegoro University " Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M. Kes. said "This year , YSU deserves to rank the 7th rank at XXVIII Pimnas in Halu Oleo University, Kendari.", he affirmed. He did show his gratitude to and pleased prayer in order the YSU contingent could perform better in the year to come.

In this year Pimnas, 113 colleges with 440 PKM proposals managed to qualify for the final and competed in Halu Oleo University. Meanwhile, the PKM proposals receiving grant from Directorate General Of Higher Education are 7.646 in total, from 324 Colleges.

Nurtanio Agus Purwanto, M.Pd . suggested YSU has sent 21 teams to join the event, consisting of 2 teams of PKM Research, 5 teams of PKM Entrepreneurship, 9 teams of PKM Karsa Cipta, 2 teams of PKM Community Outreach, and 3 teams of PKM Technology. "The number of students is 93," Agus Purwanto reported. “While 16 supervising lecturers and 16 officers were appointed to accompany those students".

Expert staff of Vice Rector III of YSU informed that the gold winning teamw came from PKM Karsa Cipta with their presentation entitled "Palang Pintu Kereta Api Otomatis Berbasis Sensor Ultrasonik” (Ultrasonic Sensor-based Automatic Train Doorstop) and PKM Technology with a poster entitled “Alat Pengepres Baglog Jamur Otomatis” (Automatic Pressing Machine for Mushroom Baglog). In addition to PKM Karsa Cipta, PKM Teknologi was awarded a gold medal through a poster entitled “Mesin Penanam Kacang Kedelai Praktis dan Efisien” (Efficient and Practical Soybean Planting Machine).

Two silver medals were grabbed by PKM Karsa Cipta with their presentation of “Shampo Kulit Jeruk” “Shampoo from Orange peels" and PKM Kewirausahaan with their poster of "Indonesian Culture in Batik”. Last, the bronze medalist is PKM Karsa Cipta with their poster entitled “Palang Pintu Kereta Api Otomatis Berbasis Sensor Ultrasonik”(Ultrasonic Sensor-Based Automatic Train Doorstop). (dedy)
