UNY’S FACULTY OF ECONOMICS TAX CENTER SUPPORTS THE TAX AWARENESS INCLUSION MOVEMENT

The Yogyakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP  DIY) visited the Faculty of Economics UNY last Wednesday (15/12). The visit was led by the Head of Extension, Service, and Public Relations of the DIY DJP, Yunipan Nur Yogananta. The meeting was held to coordinate the inclusion of tax awareness in education at the university level.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr.Siswanto, M.Pd, stated that the UNY Tax Center has carried out many activities. For example, UNY Tax Center has organized the "Tax Clinic" which helps lecturers and staff complete e-Filing, "Tax Volunteers Program" and other activities that support the inclusion of tax awareness. "In addition, we will also build a more representative Tax Center Laboratory as a means for students to learn to become professional tax consultants in serving taxpayers," he added.

Yunipan Nur Yogananta appreciated the FE UNY Tax Center, actively involved in Tax Volunteer activities and other activities that support the tax awareness inclusion program. DJP DIY also appreciated the achievements of FE UNY students in the "Tax Gathering" event (13/12/2021), who won 2nd place in the Tax Poster Contest and 1st and 3rd place in the Tax Songwriting Competition.

DJP DIY Team expects the university to include tax awareness in a learning course.  So that students can understand taxes in everyday life and analyze the need for taxes, appreciating the value of taxes in Indonesian history as the embodiment of the Pancasila, describing citizens' tax obligations and understanding tax management by the state, and understanding aspects of law enforcement in tax courts.
