Collaboration between UNY and Indonesian Air Force for the Future of Drone Technology

Gunungkidul, September 16, 2024 - Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) once again showed its commitment in advancing drone technology by hosting the 2024 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI). Held at the Gading Airfield, this event is the result of collaboration between the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), the National Achievement Center, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, UNY, and the Adisutjipto Air Force.

Strengthening the Relationship between UNY and the University of Poitiers: A Sustainable International Collaboratio

The cooperation between Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and the University of Poitiers, France, which began 10 years ago through the Erasmus program, continues to grow rapidly. The partnership began with the visit of Dr. Gerard Mauco, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the University of Poitiers, and his wife Christine Mauco, a music expert from the Conservatorium of Poitiers, to UNY. The meeting paved the way for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and various collaborative programs that continue to be strengthened over time.

Building Higher Education Synergy to Create Graduates Ready to Face Global Challenges

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Semarang (SPs UNNES) visited the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY). The group from SPs UNNES was led by the Coordinator of the Study Program, Prof. Dr. Sarwi, M.Si., who was accompanied by eight students of the Master of Economics and Development Education  program. Meanwhile, SPs UNY as the host was represented by Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO, Director of SPs UNY, along with other leaders.

Community Empowerment Program in Margoagung Village: Innovation and Digitalization of Bamboo Crafts by the PPK Team of Ormawa Haska JMF FMIPA UNY

Margoagung Village, known as a cultural pioneer village, continues to maintain the tradition of bamboo crafts that have been passed down from generation to generation. However, in this modern era, innovation is needed to ensure its sustainability and increase competitiveness. Responding to these challenges, the PPK Team of Ormawa Haska JMF FMIPA UNY came up with the Bamboo Craft Diversification and Digital Marketing Program to help the craftsmen in this village not only maintain, but also develop their bamboo crafts.

Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Singapore students learn Indonesian culture at UNY

The Overseas Education and Learning Program (OELP) from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Singapore allowed students to learn about Indonesian culture, including gamelan and batik at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) on Wednesday (4/9). Previously, they also visited Prambanan Temple.

Strengthening Partnership Synergy with Industry

Higher education needs to improve synergies with industry. This cannot be separated from the fact that the problems that arise in the industry are actually very numerous and can become research material. To build good and mutually beneficial synergies, it is necessary to change the mindset of lecturers so that they can understand the work culture of the industry and at the same time open up opportunities for lecturers to carry out activities in the industry. Improving the quality of education through Curriculum Review of the English Education Department with Professor Jeanette and Dr. Ibrar

The Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture UNY began the process of reviewing the curriculum of the English Education Study Program at the Bachelor and Master levels with a strong emphasis on the needs of stakeholders and the World of Business and Industry (DUDI). The collaboration involved two experts, Professor Jeanette G. Dials, Ed.D. from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Philippines, and Dr. Ibrar Bhatt from Queen's University Belfast, United Kingdom, to ensure the relevance and quality of graduates.

Creating opportunities for the development of sustainable innovations for universities and youth organizations

UNY was awarded as a collaborator partner of the Social Innovation Week activity as a form of implementation of UNY Mbangun Deso (UNY Program on Village Development) cooperation with Karang Taruna Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta Youth Organization).
