UNY Strengthens Teacher Resilience Through Focus Group Discussion with Chemistry Teachers in Yogyakarta

Lecturers from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Prof. Dr. Antuni Wiyarsi, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, M.Si., organized a focus group discussion (FGD) and research activity with high school chemistry teachers in Yogyakarta. The event aimed to assess teachers’ resilience in their professional roles. As part of a broader international study, the UNY team also plans to visit Finland, particularly Helsinki, to explore different educational approaches that support teachers' personal and social competence.

UNY Explores International Collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia through PJSd-FIKK Initiative

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through its Faculty of Sport Sciences (FIKK), took a significant step toward international collaboration by initiating discussions with Universiti Putra Malaysia. The exploratory meeting, part of the PJSd-FIKK (Partnership for Joint Sustainable Development) program, brought together academic leaders from both universities to explore shared interests in sports science research, student exchange opportunities, and joint curriculum development.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA UNY) recently partnered with Universitas Udayana's Faculty of Agriculture and Bali’s Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) for a joint study on developing new orchid varieties native to Bali. As part of their collaborative research, teams from both universities conducted observation and cultivation trials aimed at producing indoor-friendly orchid bonsai suitable for various environments. 

BIPA Camp 2025: Synergy with Nature in BIPA Achievement

The Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture (FBSB) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) successfully hosted BIPA Camp 2025 on May 30–31 under the theme “Synergy with Nature in BIPA Achievement.” This annual event brought together 45 participants from local and international institutions, including students from Yunnan Minzu University, BLCU, GDUFS, and Sanata Dharma University, aiming to enrich the experience of learning and teaching Bahasa Indonesia for foreign speakers (BIPA).

Providing Physical Activity Guidance at Special Needs Schools

Students and lecturers from the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation (PJKR) Study Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) conducted a community service initiative on May 26–27, 2025, by assisting adaptive physical education activities at several Special Needs Schools (SLB) across Yogyakarta. The project served as a final assignment for the Adaptive Physical Education course and was integrated into a community service program led by the course’s teaching team.

A group of students from the Department of Nonformal Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) initiated a community empowerment program titled “From Waste to Blessings: Optimizing Circular Economy Empowerment for Widows through Eco-Friendly Prayer Bead Innovation.” Implemented from February to May 2025, the program was led by Rubiyantiningsih, Fitri Padmawati, Sabrinasurya Maharani, and Dinda Nurlisa Septiana.

UNY Partners with Ministry of Trade to Spark Entrepreneurial Spirit in Students

In a meaningful step toward preparing future business leaders, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia on May 23, 2025. The signing, held at the FMIPA UGM campus, marked the beginning of a shared mission: to equip UNY students and graduates with the mindset, skills, and confidence to become successful entrepreneurs at both the national and global levels.

UNY and Walailak University Strengthen Global Partnership for Education

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) hosted a visit from Walailak University, Thailand, on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Senate Meeting Room.  The meeting aimed to build stronger cooperation between the two universities, especially in student and lecturer exchange, joint research, publications, and non-academic activities. This partnership also supports international exposure for UNY students and staff.

UNY and Yogyakarta City Government Forge Partnership to Enhance Community Programs

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has formalized a collaborative agreement with the Yogyakarta City Government, underscoring its commitment to community-focused initiatives. Represented by Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems, Prof. Soni Nopembri, Ph.D., UNY signed the partnership contract on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Hotel Tara, Yogyakarta. This agreement aligns with UNY's dedication to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, emphasizing education, research, and community service.
