Promoting Healthy Gadget Use for Children: A Community Outreach Program

Gadgets have become integral to children's daily lives, serving as tools for play, entertainment, and learning. However, excessive gadget use can negatively impact children's social, emotional, and academic development. This concern was highlighted by Argent Prianda Dewanta, a student and President of BEM Fishipol UNY, during a community outreach program in Nangsri, Srihardono, Pundong, Bantul.

Margoagung Village, known as a cultural pioneer village, continues to maintain the tradition of bamboo crafts that have been passed down from generation to generation. However, in this modern era, innovation is needed to ensure its sustainability and increase competitiveness. Responding to these challenges, the PPK Team of Ormawa Haska JMF FMIPA UNY came up with the Bamboo Craft Diversification and Digital Marketing Program to help the craftsmen in this village not only maintain, but also develop their bamboo crafts.

UNY celebrates its 60th anniversary with various activities, one of which is a healthy walk and social service in Kulon Progo on May 5, 2024. "The activities that we hold are part of UNY's commitment and dedication in the framework of the 60th Anniversary of UNY. The community service team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNY seeks to encourage sustainable organic waste management. One of the efforts comes through counseling activities on the utilization of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae as part of organic waste management and strengthening food security in Dukuh Serut, Kulon Progo district. in the activity held on May 1, 2024, there were 25 participants from the Women Farmers Group (KWT) Dukuh Serut.

Improving the potential of Bugel community through training in making ready-to-eat chili sauce

Based on data from the Kulon Progo Agriculture and Food Service Office, chili production from January to September 2023 reached 11,505.9 tons. The success of chili farmers in this area has further strengthened this region to become one of the suppliers of national chili needs.

The aloe vera plant is well-known as a plant that is useful for skin and hair health. However, a team of UNY students from the vocational faculty of UNY succeeded in developing other benefits of aloe vera as a healthy drink and food for the community.

This innovative product originated from community service activities in Domban Village, Sleman. The UNY student team and KWT Ngundi Rahayu Domban succeeded in developing candied drinks and cendol.
